Nature Days

The goal of Nature Days is to gather with other Charlotte Mason homeschool families and allow time for our children to notice, make connections, and wonder about the many interesting things found in nature.

Charlotte Mason knew that regular time in nature to observe for himself would help a child build up that important mental storehouse of images and experiences. Such a storehouse will help that child springboard into learning about things he has never seen too.

Walk in Nature

01

Nature Walk

We typically meet once a month from 1-3pm. Our regular locations are Lick Creek Park,
Washington on the Brazos, and Kleb Woods. Our walks tend to be about a mile long and most are
on jogging stroller friendly paths.

02

Nature Journaling

Following our walk, we gather for nature journaling. Students will record information in their journals from their walk and brush draw or sketch a nature item they noticed.

03

Poetry Recitation

After nature journaling, the students recite a poem they choose from our term poet or about nature.

04

Free Play

At the end of nature day students enjoy some free play time, while moms get to visit.
